I'm a professional artist specializing in Graphic Design, Acrylic/ Oil Paintings, an Murals. With a career spanning over 30 years within the Juvenile Justice System, I have used my role as an Artist in Residence to impact the lives of youths and their families. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wright State University( 1989), with previous studies at Bowling Green State University and an Associate of Arts from Rio Grande College ( 1984).

My strength base practice is defined by my dedication to using art as a vehicle for rehabilitation and expression. In 2013, I founded the Saturday Art Group ( SAG) for Montgomery County Juvenile Court Probation Services. In 2019, I was appointed head facilitator of HAALO ( Helping Adolescents Achieve Long-term Objectives) a collaborative program between the Juvenile Court and K12 Gallery & TEJAS. I guided court involved youth (ages 12-18) in developing life skills on giving back to their communities through public art.

Under my direction, student artist have created over 20 murals throughout Dayton, including installations in the Wright- Dunbar Neighborhood, the Wesley Community Center, and the Juvenile Justice Center.

I retired from the Juvenile Court Probation Department in 2021 after 31 years of service. Currently, I'm still creating large-scale community murals that foster social connection and advocate for mental health awareness.

My body of work explores a combination of mixed media, abstract art, structured lines with free flowing use of vibrant bright bold colors combined together, creating, positive social and emotional filters primarily of young adults and children. I ask can you see me through the lens of my creative process, where I allow my work to be inviting to viewers and how we see others through our own perception when combining subjective perception and objective reality together.
