Artist Statement: I speak of the power and the horror of self-knowledge. My words, my poetry, and my pictures, these are the record of battles fought against a body, and often a mind, that are not my own. They are the testimony of an amateur masochist and a career non-conformist. They are screams, and tears, and blood drying on the edge of a razor, and the discovery of a fundamental truth: that to regenerate, first you must degenerate. I destroyed the self that could not contain the fire of my soul and now I stand, reborn from the ashes, powerful and unafraid.
