Emily Morgan Wick
Drawing, Painting
Emily Morgan Wick is a painter currently based just outside of Dayton, Ohio, with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design. She enjoys painting and drawing both digitally and traditionally, as well as printmaking, bookbinding, and photography. Growing up in a small farming town, much of her work is inspired by rural landscapes and her nostalgia for the natural environments she grew up with. Alongside their art practice, Emily is a video game and animation enthusiast, a lover of houseplants, and an avid collector of tiny animal figurines. Â

I find a lot of joy in depicting the beauty of the mundane. Streetlamps on wet pavement, the pale lichen growing on old trees, overgrown run-down old farm roads. Rather than grand mountain ranges or lush seascapes, I paint the landscape I grew up in. A nostalgia for my old, decaying, backwater hometown.
