Dorian Campbell is a multimedia artist from Dayton, Ohio, with a concentration in printmaking and fibers. Dorian attended Earlham College in Indiana, graduating in 2026 with a B.A. in Studio Art and Sociology/Anthropology. Dorian is passionate about Dayton's history and local music, and is currently creating a written archive of Dayton's alternative music community. Â

The main theme throughout my work is connection to home. Most of my imagery represents the post-industrial landscape of Dayton, primarily through the lens of my own childhood. My work is an attempt to romanticize a place that is often overlooked, and I aim to convey the feeling of childhood in a rust-belt city through connection to place and the sacredness of everyday life. I am inspired by the storytelling and simplicity of folk art, and by the repurposing of religious imagery and symbolism to create a sense of enshrinement. I also take inspiration from toys, book illustrations, and other imagery from my own childhood. Working with printmaking and fibers, I enjoy the detailed process and monochromatic aspects of linoleum, as well as the tradition rooted in fabric and quilting, and the warmth and physical presence it offers.
