Photography
Dan Sproul is an Ohio-based landscape photographer and mixed media artist whose work explores atmosphere, light, and a sense of place. Drawing inspiration from the forests, coastlines, mountains, and waterways of North America, he creates imagery that invites viewers to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.
His work ranges from traditional fine art photography to contemporary mixed media pieces and has been collected by private collectors and featured in homes and interior spaces across the United States. Through his artwork, Sproul seeks to create environments that evoke calm, reflection, and a deeper appreciation for nature.
Based in Lima, Ohio, he continues to photograph and create new work while building collections that bridge fine art, interior design, and restorative environmental imagery. Â

I am drawn to places that evoke a feeling rather than simply document a location. Whether photographing a quiet forest, a rugged coastline, or a misty mountain landscape, my goal is to create artwork that captures atmosphere, memory, and a sense of connection to the natural world.
Much of my work focuses on the restorative qualities of nature and the way imagery can influence how we experience a space. I believe artwork has the ability to slow us down, create moments of reflection, and bring a sense of calm into our daily environments.
My practice combines fine art photography and mixed media approaches to create pieces that are both visually engaging and emotionally resonant. The resulting collections are intended not only to be viewed, but to contribute to the feeling of a room—whether in a home, workplace, hospitality setting, or healthcare environment.
Ultimately, my work is an invitation to pause, breathe, and experience the quiet beauty that exists in the landscapes around us.
